Wheels and Tires

Once we wave goodbye to winter, it’s officially time to change out your winter tires for summer or all-season alternatives. Our tire centre is more than happy to help you with swapping your tires and even storing them in our facility. While you’re getting this done, we also suggest you get your wheels aligned and rotated to ensure even tire wear and a lighter workload for your suspension. Since spring calls for a refresh anyway, it just makes good sense to get it all done at once.

Wiper Check

After contending with snow, hail, salt, and even debris, your wipers have gone through a lot. To prevent any damage to your windshield, we recommend that you give your wipers a once-over to check for any signs that they need to be replaced. Clues could be aural or visual, such as squeaking or scraping, skipping or streaking, or displacement or wear of the rubber that keeps them from scratching the glass. If you notice any of these signs, book your Hyundai in for a quick wiper blade replacement to save having to replace the whole windshield later.

Check Your Battery Life

Your Hyundai’s battery should ideally have a life of 3-5 years, but the intensity of Ontario’s winters can drain it faster. Should your battery fail unexpectedly, the consequences are widespread across your vehicle, ranging from the inability to use your headlights or AC (which you’ll definitely be wanting as the weather trends warmer) to a complete breakdown when you least expect it. Wash off the Winter

One thing many drivers underestimate the importance of is washing the outside of your car–especially the undercarriage. Throughout winter, your Hyundai develops a buildup of road salt which can cause issues like rusting, compromising your parts and their ability to work as they should. Even in the cold of winter it's good to visit your favourite dealership for a routine wash and get rid of the salt and debris, but if you haven’t had the chance yet, then spring is the time to start.

Test Your Brakes

Last but certainly not least are your brakes. In winter, road surfaces become a lot more slippery and call for much more careful driving. This puts additional strain on your brakes, resulting in faster wear and tear which can be incredibly dangerous.
